Visiongain’s new report the Oxo Alcohol Market Report 2020-2030: Forecasts by Type (Isobutanol, N-butanol, 2-ethylhexanol), By Application (Plasticizer, Acrylates, Acetate, Resins, Solvents, Glycol Ethers, Lube), By Region (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East & Africa) and analysis of leading companies operating in this industry.

Due to the growing use of oxo alcohols as a solvent in paints and coatings, the worldwide oxo alcohol industry is expected to experience steady growth over the forecast period. Oxo alcohols are chemicals that are ready to create an alcohol by introducing carbon monoxide and hydrogen to an olefin and then hydrogenating. Propylene with synthesis fuel (CO+H2), which generates ordinary butyraldehyde and iso-butyraldehyde, is generated by ionic hydroformulation. Rhodium catalyst is used for hydroformylation, effective at atmospheric pressure and temperature, while cobalt is used to boost the response in elevated stress and synthesis gas heat.

In 2018, isobutanol was endorsed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an additive for mixing up to 16 parts in automotive cars into gasoline. 2-Ethylhexanol is an aromatic floral pale purple liquid. It is used mainly di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) in the manufacture of low volatile esters, which is commonly used as a plasticizer for PVC and vinyl chloride copolymers. Other chemical apps include 2-EH Acylate, 2-EH Nitrate, petrol and lube ingredient.

Due to the existence of a big amount of end-use sectors, Asia Pacific is a prominent region on the oxo alcohol industry. Countries such as Japan, South Korea, and China lead to over quarter of worldwide output. Balanced product supply and demand, increased manufacturing capacity on the Chinese industry, and US and European stabilization are probable to have a beneficial effect on market growth.

Due to steady growth in the paint sector in Asia Pacific, N-Butyl liquor has appeared extremely profitable. However, due to the prohibited use of Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) in certain apps by statutory officials and the change in end-user desires for alternative plasticizers, a small decrease can be noted in the U.S., Europe, and North East Asia.

SilicoLife, one of Portugal's leading bioeconomy firms, has developed BUTANOVA technology, a fresh biological process for n-butanol production. Green Biologics Inc., a U.K.-based firm, supplied JungbunzlauerLadenburg GmbH, Germany with its first 100% sustainable Bio-pure n-Butanol.
