Visiongain’s analysis indicates that the waste-to-energy market – capital expenditure on facilities to convert municipal solid waste (MSW) to electricity and/or heat - will reach a value of $7.4bn in 2013. Over the next ten years the waste-to-energy market will see dynamic changes in reaction to legislation and localised pressures resulting in strong demand for new build facilities.

The lead analyst of the waste-to-energy report commented that, "In an increasing number of areas around the world encouraging conditions have materialised to drive the construction of new waste-to-energy (WtE) facilities. Legislation pertaining landfill quotas is driving EU member states with high landfill rates to divert MSW to new WtE facilities, while increasing emissions regulation and the drive for plant optimisation will compel investment in mature WtE markets. Perhaps most exciting is the East and South East Asian markets, where growing consumerism, large populations and lack a space are creating the ideal circumstances for growth in the WtE market, offering an array of opportunities."

The report contains 114 tables, charts and graphs that add visual analysis in order to explain developing trends within the waste-to-energy market. Visiongain provides forecasts for the period 2013-2023 in terms of value (US$) for the global waste-to-energy market.
