wound care market

In recent years, with the advent of technology, medical practitioners and manufacturers have made huge strides in the wound care market. As one of today’s leading market research and report firms, Visiongain is committed to providing you the most up-to-date information about this exciting industry. That’s why below we’ve collected some of today’s latest products and technologies for your perusal.

Let’s take a look at some of the most current advances in the wound care market.

New Products in the Wound Care Market

This year several exciting new products and applications were released, making dressing wounds easier and more efficient. The first of these, Mepilex Border Flex, was designed to create less waste while also making wound dressing easier by increasing adherence in areas prone to movement. Additionally, it’s also shown to be more comfortable than other dressings and offers a long wear time.

Another exciting product to hit the wound care market this year is Exufiber® Ag+, a gel-fiber dressing used for a variety of wound types, like leg and foot ulcers, cavity wounds, pressure ulcers, and surgical wounds. This dressing inserts a gel to increase healing and make the dressings much easier and less painful to remove

Lastly, Mepilex Border Sacrum is a dressing used specifically to treat sacral wounds and provide ulcer prevention. Its Deep Defense technology is designed to be both strong and flexible. A host of clinical studies and trials have demonstrated both its effectiveness, as well as its economic features.

New Research Presented in Fish-Skin Therapy

In recent years, fish-skin therapy has grown as a new way to treat and dress wounds. This past year, medical fish skin company Kerecis presented their findings at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care about their use of fish skin for tissue and skin cell regeneration. Their Kerecis Omega3 Wound technology utilizes intact fish skin, which converts the body’s cells and creates living tissue after being grafted onto a wound.

Since the Kerecis fish skin used for the application is only very gently processed, it maintains most of its features and remains quite similar to human skin, creating the perfect substitute.
