The Fuel Cells for Military Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Market Report 2020-2030: Forecasts by Type (Tactical UAV, Mini UAV, Micro UAV, MALE UAV, HALE UAV), By Application (Military, Civilian, Commercial), by Region (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East & Africa) and analysis of leading companies operating in this industry.

During the forecast period, the international fuel cell UAV market is expected to post a CAGR of over 6 billion. One of the cutting-edge technologies in the aviation industry is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which has achieved a great deal of interest in government, industrial and commercial applications. The UAV industry has seen the emergence of eco-friendly propulsion systems, such as fuel cells and solar cells, with technological advances.

One of the challenges facing the industry is the development of lightweight UAVs, as it has been found that a large UAV has a power source and fuel that usually accounts for about 35-65 percent of the vehicle's weight, whereas for small UAVs it is around 38-40 percent. UAV manufacturers have continuously tried to minimize vehicle weight while at the same time optimizing fuel efficiency and compliance with the UAV regulations of the respective country.

Recently, UAVs have become one of the most significant arms in the arsenal of the army. At the same period, there is also a growing number of civil and industrial UAV applications. U.S. military has created new engineering specifications for UAVs of the next decade. The U.S. rule-makers Also in Washington, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other aviation agencies around the world are under pressure to permit at least limited non-military UAV operations in commercial airspace.

The UAV market is projected to be about USD 10 billion by the end of the next decade, including production, marketing, employment, etc., in the U.S. The FAA will finally set privacy rules for tiny UAVs over the next two years, leading to much greater pressure from vendors and state and local governments. In 2025, the UAV is projected to be much broader, providing chemicals to livestock, Amazon and other products, which means moving from a small sector to a multi-billion-dollar industry in ten years or less.

To gain long flight performance, the fuel cell engineering vendors for UAV manufacturers are competing aggressively on the market. HYWINGS, a hydrogen fuel cell UAV capable of a ten-hour flight time and spanning up to 500 km, was introduced in 2016 by H3 dynamics. HES Energy Systems, a H3 Dynamics company, has been active in producing 3-5 times lighter aerospace fuel cell engineering than lithium batteries. HES Energy Systems is currently working as accessories to numerous UAV platforms on field-refueling systems, especially UAV fuel cell propulsion.
