Global Anaerobic Digestion (Ad) Market Is Set To Grow To $8,314m In 2017
10 August 2017
Visiongain’ has launched a new energy report The Global Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Market Report 2017-2027: CAPEX & OPEX Forecasts, Project CAPEX by Feedstock Type (Waste-Fed, Farm-Fed), Number of AD Facilities, Forecasts By Region & Leading Countries Plus Analysis of Top Companies Involved in Anaerobic Digester Facilities with Agricultural and Waste Feedstocks for Biogas Production
The use of anaerobic digestion as a means to utilise organic waste means is being incorporated into waste management programmes, to reduce the amount of waste that we either send to landfill or to be incinerated. Through the process of anaerobic digestion, operators can produce a bio-fertiliser, proven to be a cost-effective and environmentally sensitive solution to increase crop yields. The main factors that dictate the potential for an anaerobic digestion market in countries across the world are linked to the availability of feedstock and the state of the regulatory environment. An AD facility does not include open dumps, managed dumps, landfill sites or wastewater facilities. An AD plant is a facility, separate from a waste management site, where the feedstock is largely an agricultural waste, energy crops and, to a growing extent, organic municipal waste. Anaerobic digestion facilities continue to receive high levels of investment, proving to be a cost-effective way to utilising biological waste/organic material to generate energy, as well as achieving significant reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The visiongain report analyst commented “Over the next ten years, anaerobic digestion (AD) is expected to significantly contribute to the global energy mix along with local waste management and the agricultural practices of millions of farmers. The AD industry facilitates extensive benefits owing to its use as a low-carbon, baseload supply of renewable electricity, a clean transport fuel and as a cost-effective bio-fertiliser. AD can be also be incorporated into waste management policy to alleviate MSW that ends up in landfills or is incinerated and provide AD facilities with a new source of feedstock. The AD market is expected to experience a rapid expansion owing to increase in the number of operational AD plants across Europe and North America. This development will help combat harmful GHG emissions and unsustainable waste management practices. Within the context of the wider biogas market, AD looks set to dominate spending over the next decade.”
Leading companies featured in the report who are developing Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities include Evonik Industries, Covanta Holding Corporation, 2G Energy AG, Siemens AG, Xylem Water Solutions, Parker Hannifin Corporation, Anaergia Inc, Cargill Inc, Harvest Power & Clearfleau Limited
