Visiongain’ has launched a new 403 page defence technology report Electronic Warfare (EW) Market Report : Forecasts by Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP) & Electronic Support (ES). Contracts & Analysis Of Leading Companies Developing Directed Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCMs). Radar Warning Receivers (RWRs), Active & Towed Decoy Systems, Radar Jamming and Deception Systems & Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) Systems

Electronic Warfare is defined in United States (U.S.) military doctrine as any military action involving the use of electromagnetic and directed energy to control the electromagnetic spectrum or to attack the enemy. This definition involves a number of military activities that include locating, exploiting, degrading, targeting, disrupting, denying, degrading, de

ceiving or destroying the enemy’s electronic systems that support military operations or aim to deny friendly forces the ability to use the electromagnetic spectrum. In short, EW is a military action whose objective is to control the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS). At this point it is important to exclude the deployment of cyber capabilities to control the EMS from the parameters of this definition. Whilst some cyber-warfare platforms are designed to control the EMS such as enemy radars, it does not achieve this end through the inherent use of electromagnetic or directed energy

The visiongain report analyst commented “Electronic Warfare involves using the electromagnetic spectrum for support, attack and protection. As there is a continuous evolution of threats, Signals Intelligence systems (SIGNIT) demand is growing rapidly among airborne platforms which is further intensified with the introduction of UAVs. Countries such as the US, Israel, and the UK who are technologically at the forefront, are investing heavily in innovative EW systems which would enable the electronic warfare market to grow steadily over the next decade.”

Leading companies featured in the report who are developing electronic warfare technologies include Raytheon, Harris Corporation, BAE Systems plc, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, The Boeing Company, Cobham plc, Cohort plc, Cohort plc, Leonardo S.p.A., L-3 Communications Holdings and Textron Inc.
