Visiongain has published a new report on Defence Robotic Technologies Market Report 2021-2031: By Application (Search and Rescue, ISR, Combat Support, Mine Clearance, Firefighting, EOD, Transportation) By Type (Autonomous, Remote Controlled) By Platform Type (Airborne, Land, Marine) By Connectivity (Tethered, Wireless) and Leading Regional/ Country market analysis.

Global defense robotic technologies market is estimated to be valued at US$ xx billion in 2021 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of xx% to reach a market value of US$ xx billion by 2031. Defense robotic technologies market has been witnessing strong growth over the past few years on account of increasing focus in improving soldier situational awareness in the battlefield. Defense Robotic Technologies helps in improved situational awareness by communicating important information in the battlefield to soldiers and command center. Defense robotics also helps in transportation of weapons, food supplies, medical kits and ammunition to the soldiers without any human intervention. All these factors have triggered the demand for defense robotic technologies over the past few years and the trend is expected to continue over the forecast period. In addition, armed forces across the globe are increasingly using drones to improve ISR capabilities across air, land and sea, which is also one of the key factors to drive the market.

Robotic technologies also help in performing mission critical tasks and reduce soldier casualties. Defense forces across the globe are focusing on automation of non critical activities such as ISR, information gathering, threat detection, and food & medicines transportation, due to which the demand for autonomous robotic technologies has gain popularity over the past few years.

COVID-19 Impact on Defense Robotic Technologies Market
COVID-19 has affected the global economies negatively during the past few months and is expected to have significant impact on the defense sector in terms of budget allocation over the next few years. Imposition of lockdown to contain the spread of corona virus has affected many businesses across the globe resulting in economic instability. As a result, countries are expected to spend less on defense sector in coming years, in turn affecting the defense robotic technologies market negatively in the next two to three years. However, market is expected to regain its growth phase during the second half of the forecast period.

Competitive Landscape
Some of the company’s profiled in this report include Lockheed Martin Corporation, Thales Group, BAE Systems, Qinetiq, General Dynamics Corporation, Endeavor Robotics, Saab AB, Israel Aerospace Industries, Elbit Systems LTD. and Cobham PLC.
• In November 2019, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has signed a contract with six different companies for the development of autonomous underwater robots for deep-sea exploration. Companies involved in this program include Northrop Grumman, L3Harris Technologies, Leidos, Kitware, Soartech, and EdgeTech. Under this program, DARPA aims to develop underwater robots which are capable finding ocean depths with the help of underwater sensing tools and space robotics.
• In November 2019, FLIR has secured a contract worth US$109 million for supplying Kobra robots to US Army. Under this contract, the company will supply Common Robotic System - Heavy (CRS-H), an unmanned ground vehicles to perform EOD missions.
