In civil or commercial applications, UAVs are applied for remote environmental research, pollution assessment and monitoring, and oceanography among others. With the growing demand for UAVs across air, land, and sea, it is expected that autopilot system market will grow significantly during the forecast period.

The growth of air passenger traffic in Asia Pacific and Middle East is expected to double in the next 20 years. As a result, aircraft deliveries are anticipated to increase so as to cater to the growing air passenger traffic. With increasing aircraft deliveries, it is expected that autopilot system market will grow during the forecast period.

The aviation industry is continuously developing innovative and advance technologies so as to enhance aircraft operations. The emergence of advance technologies may attribute to the growth of network centric warfare market.

COVID-19 Impact on Autopilot System Market
The aviation industry has witnessed a strong growth in the past decade and is expected to double in the next 20 years. However, with the outbreak of the coronavirus, most of the industry vertical which include the aviation industry is highly impacted. The reduced demand for aircraft materials and components will mostly affect the OEMs, as well as create a huge impact throughout the supply chain to suppliers.

Competitive Landscape
The players operating in the aviation sector are highly focused on developing enhanced flight control systems. Some of the company’s profiled in this report include Rockwell Collins Inc, BAE Systems, Garmin Ltd, Furuno Electric Co. Ltd, Trimble Navigation Limited, Honeywell International, Northrop Grumman, Genesys Aerosystems Group and Comnav Marine Ltd.
• In August 2019, Collins Aerospace (previously Rockwell Collins), received a contract from L3Harris Technologies to play a key role in the U.S. Air Force’s C-130H Avionics Modernization Program Increment 2 (AMP INC 2) program. Collins Aerospace’s Flight2 avionics will replace over 100 analog instruments in the current cockpit with seven multifunctional displays (MFD), three control display units (CDU), and a new digital autopilot.

• In October 2020, Garmin International Inc. launched an update for the GI 275 electronic flight instrument which has been granted supplemental type certificate (STC) approval by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is available immediately through select authorized Garmin dealers. The GI 275 can now be used with the GFC 500 autopilot to deliver superior in-flight performance and added redundancy when multiple GI 275 units are installed in an aircraft.
