Visiongain has launched a new Automotive report: Automotive Embedded Software Market Report 2019-2029 : Forecasts for Tool (Compilers, Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), Debuggers, and Assemblers), Operating System (Microsoft, Blackberry QNX, Genivi (Linux Based), Android OS and Others), End User (Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), Connected Car and Autonomous Vehicles), Application (Engine Management System (EMS), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Airbag Control, Car Navigation System, Music System, and others) and Geography (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and Latin America).

Embedded software used in automobiles are rugged in nature as most of these systems are built on a single chip. However, the compactness enables them to fit with ease in the restricted space of vehicles and can be deployed to implement features ranging from adjustment of suspension, altering octane levels in fuel, security systems and anti-lock braking systems. These systems are used in automobiles for various purposes, such as safety, engine control, networking, infotainment, in the chassis and body electronics among others. Electronics comprise a large share of an automobile, and innovations such as car-to-car and car-to-road communication have led to increasing microcontroller units embedded in vehicles. This aids in security by providing features such as collision avoidance and helps make intelligent decisions such as locating fuel stations. Automotive safety systems where embedded software used are electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock braking systems and automatic four-wheel drive, to name a few. These systems are also used extensively in electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and other automobiles for maximizing their efficiency and reducing pollution. Hybrid and electric vehicles use embedded software for fuel efficiency and emission control, and the expected increase in adoption of these vehicles is expected to propel the embedded software market forward. In addition, from a regional segmentation perspective, North America has seen highest revenue during the year 2018 which is attributed for the growing number of technological advancements in automotive industry of the region, boosting sales. On the other hand, Asia-pacific region has reported the highest growth average during the forecast period. The increased consumption capacity of large developing nations such as India and China is attributed to increasing demand of autonomous and connected vehicles. Furthermore, the growth of the global Automotive Embedded Software market is fuelled by factors, such as advancements taking place in the automotive sector, increasing trend of integrating smart technologies and IoT in modern day vehicles, and growing number of initiatives taken by various governments to propel the growth of electric vehicles across regions.

The Visiongain report analyst commented "Blackberry QNX is expected to hold the largest market share of the Automotive Embedded Software market in 2019 followed by Genivi (Linux Based) and Microsoft. In addition, Genivi (Linux Based) is expected to grow at the highest CAGR during the forecast period from 2019 to 2029. GENIVI based on Linux is a standard for vehicle-specialized functions among automotive companies and it is expected to be a preferred platform of many automotive companies henceforth."

Leading companies featured in the report are NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, Luxoft Company, MSC Software Corporation, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, AdvanTech Corporation, IBM Corporation, Denso Corporation, Robert Bosch, Panasonic, Texas Instruments, BlackBerry QNX, Continental AG, and Aptiv Plc.
