Visiongain has launched a new defence report Military Simulation, Modelling and Virtual Military Training Market Report 2019-2029: Top Companies, Forecasts & Analysis For Airborne, Ground, Maritime & Other Simulation & Training Platforms, with National Market Forecasts, and Global Market Forecasts of Airborne S&T Submarket by Application (Aircraft, Helicopter, UAV) and Ground S&T Submarket by Application (Combat, Vehicle).

Developments in simulation technology have led to an increasing application of simulators in a military capacity. Mainly, military simulation technology can be used as a cost-effective way of training soldiers and engineers. The advancement and sophistication of simulators allow individuals to be trained in highly similar environments to that of advanced military technology without the costs of running the equipment itself. This has many benefits including reducing wear and tear on expensive military equipment as well as increasing the frequency of training military personnel can receive regarding specific equipment such as aircraft. A prevalent example is the new F-35 fifth-generation fighter jet, which uses military simulators for 50% of its training program. Engagement in emerging technology is a significant step for the future development of the military simulation market and evidence that the market for military simulation technology has the potential to grow exponentially in the next decade.

The Visiongain report analyst commented: "Historically, the market for simulation technologies has been focused primarily on flight simulators. However, technological advances and economies of scales have augmented the availability of other forms of simulators for all military services, such as tactical combat training, weapons simulation training, land vehicles simulators, maritime vehicles simulators, defence systems simulation and computer-based courseware for troops, among which language trainers represent a constant element for all armies worldwide."

Leading companies featured in the report who are developing military simulation technologies include Airbus, Boeing, BAE, CAE, Cubic, Leonardo SpA, Elbit Systems, General Dynamics, L-3 Technologies and Lockheed Martin.
