Visiongain’s new report the Oral Care Market Report 2020-2030: Forecasts by Product (Mouthwash, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Denture Products, Accessories) plus analysis of leading companies indicates that the global oral care market will grow at a CAGR over 4.6% by 2030.

Growing awareness of dental hygiene and increasing prevalence of dental caries is expected to drive the market. In order to raise awareness of dental hygiene and good oral health, leading industry players are implementing many initiatives. The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), for example, collaborated with Crest and Oral-B in 2015 to generate awareness among orthodontic patients of regrading good oral care habits. Increasing people's awareness of cosmetic dental procedures and helping to improve personal esthetics has also had a positive impact on demand for oral care services and solutions.

Cosmetic whitening services are commonly used by individuals to enhance dental esthetics. The high incidence of dental caries has also driven the market significantly. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) figures for 2015, 91 percent of the U.S. population aged 20-64 had dental caries. 27% remained untreated among them. This results in an increasing need for oral medicinal products, thus boosting the growth of the market. Geriatrics is the most popular target population in the oral care industry. The increasing global geriatric population and the availability of various types of denture products has made this community a lucrative goal, increasing the demand for these products.

The competition is also driven by the launch of innovative products. Electric and battery-powered toothbrushes, dental floss, denture adhesive creams, fresh breath strips, and chewing gums are among the newly developed products that the middle-income and high-income classes are increasingly adopting. Market entry of innovative products has raised people's interest in oral care, resulting in increased demand.

Toothpaste had the largest share in the market for oral care depending on the brand. The primary factor driving this category is high consumer use across all income and age groups. The availability of various forms of toothpaste, such as gels, pastes and powder, provides consumers with more options, thereby boosting demand. Nonetheless, it is predicted that the toothbrush segment will project the fastest growth over the forecast period and emerge dominant by 2030. This is partly due to the introduction of modern products such as toothbrushes powered by electrics and batteries.

These products offer additional advantages such as total mouth cleaning with different usage modes such as deep cleaning, daily cleaning, tongue cleaning, whitening, owing to its increasing use for oral hygiene maintenance, Mouthwash is expected to show lucrative growth over the forecast period. Despite its advantages, side effects such as teeth staining, damage to the oral mucosa, and adverse reactions if ingested, particularly in children. Asia Pacific dominated the market and is expected to show the fastest growth as well. This can be due to rising population and increasing people's awareness of dental hygiene. Furthermore, the high prevalence of dental caries is expected to drive the market in countries like India. Due to the increasing prevalence of oral diseases, Europe held a noticeable market share especially in the eastern parts of the region.

It is also expected that an increasing geriatric population base will drive market growth. High disposable income has increased demand for more sophisticated products like electric toothbrushes and fresh breath strips in developed countries like the U.S. This has culminated in the North America market having a significant share of revenue. In turn, higher growth is expected to result in the recruitment of professional dental hygienists in the U.S. Such corporations ' main strategies include mergers and acquisitions, international growth, and new product development. For example, in 2018, Crest launched an Activated Foam Paste called Gum Detoxify, which claims to help improve gum health.
